This is, the original, the out-of-print, the fabulous, the one and only first printing of the MADONNA SEX book published in October 1992 with the original mylar bag and Erotica CD, which I don’t think I ever played, in the mylar ziploc bag, too. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Art directed by Fabien Baron, Produced by Callaway and published by Warner Books. Madonna pretty much covers every fantasy anyone has ever had, including sado-masochistic, interracial and homosexual themes in this uniquely bound stainless-steel covered book with SEX stamped on the cover. Madonna pushed the envelope and published a book that almost put a halt to her career. In the end, she sold millions and became the most talked about celebrity in the 90s. And she got us talking about “SEX”! Thanks, Madonna! Now it is “almost” mainstream!!! Gorgeous photography by Steven Meisel of Madonna herself, sexy supermodels like Naomi Campbell and actors and actresses like Isabella Rosellini. I think this one dude in there is Vanilla Ice! I raced to buy this when it first came otu so I could gawk over it with my friends, and I REALLY enjoyed this book, and want to pass on the love to someone who will enjoy it as well! This is a coffee table book to show off and start some conversations with, if you are looking for a perfect copy to collect, I don’t think this is your book…maybe buy this one to show off and you can buy another one to save!

The book also comes with the original mylar bag. The mylar bag was cut along the top to get the book out. There is a 2″ tear or so in the top left corner from taking the book out and putting it back in again.

I bought this book when it first came out as I was Madonna crazy, like everyone else who had succumbed to Madonna-mania! I saw the movie, I bought the CD, I even bought her “not ready for MTV” video in VHS! Now, to describe the peculiarities of my book…

The inside is in amazing condition. It was only looked through a few times, The funny and sexy Dita the Chelea Girl comic book is still bound in the back. There is nothing wrong with the pages inside. Though people have complained about the shoddy binding, my binding is fine - it has NOT come apart, but a couple of the rings have gotten slightly bent over the years. This book was kept on a shelf for the better part of a decade, but I have moved twice, and it FELL off the shelf once and got dented. Ouch!

The front cover is ALMOST mint. The cover is dented in the lower left-hand corner down by the binding like so…

The back cover is another story. Since the cover and back are stainess or brushed aluminium, it sents and scratches VERY easily. There is some normal wear on the back, but there is a dent across the X which is die-cut into the back cover, and there a couple of long scratches as you can see here

Stamped into the back is the SERIAL NUMBER 0672877. Here are some more photos so you know what you are getting, but fair warning, I am no Steven Meisel - ha ha!!!!

I don’t even remember what I paid for thsi book, but used copies go on amazon starting at about $200!! and UP!!!
